Brought to life by Oleksandra Teteriuk (Sasha America), SPA GAIT is a manifestation of a journey from commerce to creation, from routine to ritual. It emerged from a personal search for simplicity, balance, and comfort — not just in what we wear, but in how we live.
Sasha hopes to inspire anyone who doubts their strength to act anyway — and to not be afraid of falling. Real strength lies not in avoiding failure, but in getting back up every time and continuing forward toward your goals.
Why SPA GAIT is different
SPA GAIT clogs are made with one simple promise: 100% natural. No rubber. No glue. No synthetic threads. Just pure materials that return to the earth with ease — unlike many substitutes for natural leather, which often contain hidden plastics and take much longer to break down.
They’re also soft, flexible, and anatomically shaped. From the moment you slip them on, they adapt to your feet — gently hugging without friction or pressure on your skin. Just natural ease, from the very first step.
The Beginning of SPA GAIT
SPA GAIT was founded by Oleksandra Teteriuk (Sasha America) — a marketer by profession and a creator by soul. From the beginning, she was drawn to a kind of beauty that can’t be bought — to stories, art, and energy that live outside of commerce. This brand was never meant to follow trends; it was created to offer something meaningful.
From Commerce to Purpose
Sasha's professional journey in marketing began in 2015, at the age of 20, but her interest in sociological studies started much earlier — in her teenage years. Along the way, dropshipping was explored and early success was achieved — but something deeper was missing. Purpose was needed.
After realising that selling products without meaning left her feeling empty, she made the decision to focus on marketing and gain deeper experience in business. Her goal was to observe both the successful and flawed decisions of other companies in order to eventually build her own — with fewer mistakes and stronger foundations.
Over the years, continuous learning and self-discovery fuelled the hope of one day creating a product worth standing behind.
The Spark of an Idea
In 2021, during what began as an ordinary conversation, a bold idea took shape — home shoes with a massage effect using amber stones. Though energising, full-scale production proved financially unfeasible at the time. The vision was scaled down to focus on insoles, which still posed challenges of their own.
By early 2022, brainstorming sessions with trusted collaborators were underway — including discussions around potential investments. It was then that hemp fabric was introduced into the concept. Once used for making sails, hemp was found to be strong, breathable, and natural. Its durability meant that embedded amber stones could be held in place without damage. It was the perfect match.
A Turning Point: The Impact of War
At the time, Sasha had already been living in Kyiv for 7 years. Efforts to build a team of like-minded creatives were still unfolding when the full-scale war began. Life shifted instantly. Everything paused.
From Discomfort to Insight
During the first few weeks, Sasha noticed her feet were sweating every five minutes — a physical response to constant fear and stress. That personal discomfort triggered deeper insight. If such a strong reaction could be caused by stress, similar sensations might be experienced by many others, even under less extreme conditions. Development of the insoles resumed with greater urgency, no longer driven solely by the idea of comfort — but by a desire to offer relief, grounding, and gentle support to others in distress.
The Search for the Right Materials
By late 2023, Sasha had relocated to another country. The search continued — for better materials, expert insight, and a clearer vision. The focus expanded from insoles to fully natural home shoes.
In 2024, coconut fiber was discovered — soft, breathable, springy, and entirely natural. It delivered the comfort of memory foam without the synthetic toxins. It was a turning point — another piece of the puzzle found.
The Struggle for Truly Natural Footwear
As the design progressed, one truth became increasingly clear: no one seemed to be producing truly natural home footwear. Even professionals defaulted to rubber soles and synthetic glues, despite Sasha’s insistence on using only natural materials.
Doing It by Hand
That’s when full responsibility was taken into Sasha’s own hands — quite literally. The shoes began to be handcrafted personally, piece by piece. Sasha decided to take the basic home shoe model — previously created by a local seamstress and shoemaker — and try improving it herself with her own hands.
The Natural Truth About Leather
During this stage, Sasha also made an important discovery:
Most "natural" leathers are dyed using synthetic chemical pigments.
This revelation led to a new choice: to personally hand-dye the natural leather using plant-based, non-toxic dyes. As a result, the upper parts of SPA GAIT shoes are now crafted from natural vegetable-tanned leather, coloured only with natural, eco-friendly dyes.
Handmade, Layer by Layer
Additionally, to achieve true anatomical comfort without synthetic foams, the footbed and structural mid-layers inside the shoe were built using coconut fibre — a natural, springy material that gently moulds to the foot over time.
Shared in Real Time
Sasha also began streaming the development process online, sharing the ups and downs of searching for the perfect construction and inviting others to witness how the model came to life. For two months, this process was broadcast openly — showing the dedication behind every choice and the real-time evolution of the SPA GAIT design.

Though supported by others along the way, the vision, concept, and product development were ultimately shaped and driven by Sasha herself.

CRAFTED WITH CARE USING NATURAL, SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS:
Outsole: Dense, unpainted natural leather for durability and a grounded feel.
Footbed: 3 cm (approx. 1.2 in) of natural coconut fibre. This intelligent material gradually moulds to your foot over time. It settles to around 1 cm (0.4 in) under key support zones like your heel, while remaining fuller at 1.5-2 cm (0.6-0.8 in) in lower-pressure areas, creating a truly unique fit.
Footbed Lining: Unpainted natural leather for a breathable, toxin-free surface.
Upper (Inside): Unpainted natural leather for a soft, natural touch.
Upper (Outside): Vegetable-tanned natural leather developing a unique patina over time.
Mid-layer (Inside the Upper): 1 cm (0.4 in) of coconut fibre providing softness and structural integrity.
Heel Section: Combination of natural leather and coconut fibre for support and shape retention.
